Незакономерность эта объясняется, может быть, звукоподражательным характером
слова. — Название ‘петуха’ <ref type="xr" target="#entry_wasæg"/> не связано по
корню с <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kark</hi>, оно образовано от <ref type="xr" target="#entry_wasyn_1"/>

name rooster <ref type="xr" target="#entry_wasæg"/> is not related with
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">kark</hi> by the root, it is derived from <ref type="xr" target="#entry_wasyn_1"/>
