<etym xml:lang="ru">Слово <hi rendition="#rend_italic">bildoǧ</hi> образовалось из <hi rendition="#rend_italic">bil</hi>-<hi rendition="#rend_italic">tox</hi> буквально
„скручивание губы“ (см. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_byl"/> губа и <ref type="xr" target="#entry_tūxyn"/> ‘скручивать’). Имеется в виду скручивание
верхней губы у строптивой лошади в целях ее укрощения при ковке и пр.

Дигорскому <hi rendition="#rend_italic">bildoǧ</hi> отвечает и. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_bylyzdūx"/> (от
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_byl"/> и <ref type="xr" target="#entry_yzdūxyn"/> ‘скручивать’).</etym>
<etym xml:lang="en">The word <hi rendition="#rend_italic">bildoǧ</hi> derived from <hi rendition="#rend_italic">bil</hi>-<hi rendition="#rend_italic">tox</hi>, literally
"twisting of the lip" (see <ref type="xr" target="#entry_byl"/> lip and <ref type="xr" target="#entry_tūxyn"/> twist). This refers to the twisting of
the upper lip of the obstinate horse in order to tame it when forging etc. (

<w>zakrutka</w></mentioned>, <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d623e143" xml:id="mentioned_d623e165" xml:lang="ru"><w>zakrutenʼ</w></mentioned>). The notion of the taming in general comes
from this. Digor <hi rendition="#rend_italic">bildoǧ</hi> is opposed to the Iron <ref type="xr" target="#entry_bylyzdūx"/> (from <ref type="xr" target="#entry_byl"/> and
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_yzdūxyn"/> twist).</etym>
