<etym xml:lang="ru">Вероятно, из <hi rendition="#rend_italic">fælm-fyx</hi>, где <hi rendition="#rend_italic">fælm</hi> — усеченное <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fælmæn"/> ‘мягкий’, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fyx"/> ‘печеный’, ‘вареный’, ‘кипяченый’. В правильности
такого разъяснения убеждает в особенности то, что антонимическим выражением
является <hi rendition="#rend_italic">qæbær-fyx</hi> ‘сильно, круто пролеченный’, где <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qæbær"/> ‘твердый’ представляет антоним к <hi rendition="#rend_italic">fælmæn</hi>.</etym>

explanation is convinced in particular by the fact that the antonymic expression
is <hi rendition="#rend_italic">qæbær-fyx</hi> well-baked, where <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qæbær"/>
hard is the antonym of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">fælmæn</hi>.</etym>
