the North Caucasus (<q rendition="#rend_singlequotes">kidnapped on Kuma</q>). More
correctly — from <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d3571e322" xml:id="mentioned_d3571e382" xml:lang="trk"><lang/>
<w>quma</w>
<gloss><q>concubine</q></gloss></mentioned>. The exact meaning, therefore, is
<q>originated from a concubine</q>. This etymology fully corresponds to historical
realities: the descendants of the concubine (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_nomylūs"/>)
were called <oRef/> and <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kævdæsard"/>; see:
