<gloss><q>Трапезунд</q></gloss>. Ср. аналогичное выражение <w>Ganʒajy xaj bau!</w>

как Гянджа и Трапезунд, казались горцу Кавказа краем света и местом верной
погибели.</etym>
<etym xml:lang="en">Perhaps <w>Tappyzar</w> is a metathesis from <w>Trapyza</w>
<gloss><q>Trapezund</q></gloss>. Cf. the analogous expression <w>Ganʒajy xaj bau!</w>
<gloss><q rendition="#rend_doublequotes">become the fate of Ganja!</q></gloss>. Such
cities as Ganja and Trapezund seemed to the highlander of Caucasus as the edge of the
world and a place of sure death.</etym>
