‘плотно замкнутый’ и (с выпадением <hi rendition="#rend_italic">r</hi>) в <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æx-kænyn</hi> ‘замыкать’, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æǧ-mæg</hi> ‘застежка’, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æx-tong</hi> ‘подпруга’; может быть, сюда же <ref type="xr" target="#entry_arkʼaw"/> ‘клещи’. Ср. <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d5884e142" xml:id="mentioned_d5884e108" xml:lang="sog"><lang/>

element in the second part. So we assume that the determined stem ark- with the
meaning to fasten, to close is present in the words <hi rendition="#rend_bold">Digor</hi>
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_ærxu"/> densely closed and (with the loss of r)
in <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æx-kænyn</hi> to enclose, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æǧ-mæg</hi> fastener, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æx-tong</hi> saddle-girth; maybe <ref type="xr" target="#entry_arkʼaw"/> pincers also belongs here. Compare <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d5884e108" xml:id="mentioned_d5884e142" xml:lang="sog"><lang/>
