<etym xml:lang="ru">Из <ref type="xr" target="#entry_dæl-"/> + <hi rendition="#rend_italic">mus-ti</hi>, где
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">mus-ti</hi>- внутренний местный падеж от *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">mus</hi> ‘мышь’ → ‘мышца’. Образование
вполне аналогично русскому <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d2001e132" xml:id="mentioned_d2001e111" xml:lang="ru"><lang/>
<w>под мышкой</w></mentioned>. Ср. также <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d2001e137" xml:id="mentioned_d2001e116" xml:lang="tg"><lang/>
<w>mušák</w>

наше толкование, то в <hi rendition="#rend_italic">dæl-mus-ti</hi> сохранилась более старая форма слова ‘мышь’
(<hi rendition="#rend_italic">mus</hi>); ср. обычное <ref type="xr" target="#entry_myst"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">mistæ</hi>
‘мышь’.</etym>
<etym xml:lang="en">From <ref type="xr" target="#entry_dæl-"/> + <hi rendition="#rend_italic">mus-ti</hi>, where
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">mus-ti</hi>- is plural inessive case form of the word *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">mus</hi> mouse
muscle. The derivative is quite similar to the Russian <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d2001e111" xml:id="mentioned_d2001e132" xml:lang="ru"><lang/>
<w>pod myškoj</w></mentioned>. Cf. also <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d2001e116" xml:id="mentioned_d2001e137" xml:lang="tg"><lang/>
<w>mušák</w>

interpretation is correct then in <hi rendition="#rend_italic">dæl-mus-ti</hi> a more old form of the word
mouse (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">mus</hi>) remains; cf. regular <ref type="xr" target="#entry_myst"/> |
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">mistæ</hi> mouse.</etym>
