<ref type="xr" target="#entry_7xsynyn"><w>xsynyn</w></ref> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æxsinun</hi> ‘грызть’. Они соотносятся как
медиальная форма к каузативной (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ixsyjyn</hi>
‘истощаться’ — <hi rendition="#rend_italic">xsynyn</hi> ‘заставлять истощаться’
→ ‘грызть’); ср. <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d2156e191" xml:id="mentioned_d2156e134" xml:lang="inc-x-old"><lang/>
<w>ksīyate</w>

to Iranian <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*vi-xši-</hi>, bearing in mind

decided on, thinking of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">u</hi> in Digor as
secondary; cf. variation between <hi rendition="#rend_italic">i</hi> and <hi rendition="#rend_italic">u</hi> in Digor <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fidbiliz"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">fudbuluz</hi> etc.
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_7xsynyn"><w>xsynyn</w></ref> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æxsinun</hi> to gnaw is not separable from <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ixsyjyn</hi>. They relate to each other as a medial
form to a causative one (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ixsyjyn</hi> to exhaust
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">xsynyn</hi> to make exhaustedto gnaw); cf.
<mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d2156e134" xml:id="mentioned_d2156e191" xml:lang="inc-x-old"><lang/>
<w>ksīyate</w>
<gloss><q>(he) dies</q></gloss></mentioned><hi rendition="#rend_italic">ksinati</hi> (he) ruins. The same relation exists in Ossetic <ref type="xr" target="#entry_sk0yjyn"/> to be torn<ref type="xr" target="#entry_sk0ynyn"/> to tear.
