‘шкура’. Возможно, что все эти слова представляют в конечном счете дериваты и.е.
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">*k˳er-</hi>, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*sk˳er-</hi> ‘резать’. В этом случае <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kærc</hi> (←<hi rendition="#rend_italic">*karti</hi>)
относилось бы к глаголу <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*kar-</hi>, как <ref type="xr" target="#entry_bærc"/> к
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_baryn"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xælc"/> к <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xæryn_1"/> и т. п. — Из осетинского идет,
очевидно, <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d340e407" xml:id="mentioned_d340e284" xml:lang="ce"><lang/>

(<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_ОЯФ_I"/><biblScope>573</biblScope></bibl>), may trace back to <hi rendition="#rend_italic">-ti</hi>. In this
case one gets Old Ossetic <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*karti-</hi>, which is perfectly reflected in
<mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d340e197" xml:id="mentioned_d340e320" xml:lang="ae"><lang/>
<w>kərəti-</w></mentioned>. It is not clear how these word are related to
East Iranian words for fur, skin etc. — <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d340e202" xml:id="mentioned_d340e325" xml:lang="wbl"><lang/>

and <hi rendition="#rend_italic">скора</hi> skin. It may probably mean that all these words are in the end
derivatives fron Indo-European <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*k˳er-</hi>, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*sk˳er-</hi> to cut. In this case
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">kærc</hi> (←<hi rendition="#rend_italic">*karti</hi>) should have been related to the verb <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*kar-</hi>, as <ref type="xr" target="#entry_bærc"/> does so to<ref type="xr" target="#entry_baryn"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xælc"/> does so to
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_xæryn_1"/> etc. — <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d340e284" xml:id="mentioned_d340e407" xml:lang="ce"><lang/>
