отличие от иронского, где форма стертая, в дигорском образование вполне
прозрачное: <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æ-don-ug</hi>, где <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æ</hi> ---привативная частица, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_don"/> ‘вода’, а -<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ug</hi> — суффикс, выражающий наделенность
чем-либо; буквально „лишенный воды“. Ср. аналогичное образование <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æ-gom-yg</hi>
‘немой’, буквально „лишенный рта (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_kom"/>)“ [см.
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_ægomyg"/>]. Для развития значения ср.

Unlike Iron, where the form is unclear, in the Digor the derivation is quite
transparent: <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æ-don-ug</hi>, where <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æ</hi> --- is a privative particle, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_don"/> is water, and -<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ug</hi> is a suffix that
means endowment with somthing; literally “missing water”. Cf. an analogous
derivation <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æ-gom-yg</hi> mute, literally “missing mouth (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_kom"/>)” [see <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ægomyg"/>]. For
the development of the meaning cf. <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d5934e153" xml:id="mentioned_d5934e193" xml:lang="trk"><lang/>
