<hi rendition="#rend_italic">*kan(y)a-</hi> и относится к <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kad"/> так же, как
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_æncoj"/> к <ref type="xr" target="#entry_æncad"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fælloj"/> к <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fællad"/>. В дигорском ожидали бы <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*kojnæ</hi>, но на
этот раз дигорский воспринял иронскую форму; иначе как предполагая исторический
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">n</hi> после <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ā</hi> (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">*kān</hi>), трудно объяснить <hi rendition="#rend_italic">о</hi> в обоих диалектах. См. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kad"/>; ср. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_cyt"/>

<etym xml:lang="en">It is a derivative from Old Iranian <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*ka(у)-</hi> to give

<hi rendition="#rend_italic">koj</hi> traces back to <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*kan(y)a-</hi> and it is related to <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kad"/> the same way as <ref type="xr" target="#entry_æncoj"/>

historical <hi rendition="#rend_italic">n</hi> after <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ā</hi> (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">*kān</hi>). See <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kad"/>; cf. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_cyt"/> honour, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kīnæ"/> revenge.</etym>
