‘пахтанье’, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_wælivyx"/> ‘пирог с сыром’ и некоторым
другим) стоят элементы субстратные и заимствованные: <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kærzyn"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ʒūl"/> ‘хлеб’, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ʒærna"/> (разные каши), <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xalyvvæ"/> ‘пирожок’, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_lyvzæ"/>
‘жаркое’, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xænkʼæl"/> ‘лапша’ и др. Ср. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xæbīzǵyn"/>.</etym>

<gloss><q>cheese pie</q></gloss></mentioned> is close to Digor while
preserving a more ancient form without metathesis (<hi rendition="#rend_italic"></hi>- → <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æx</hi>-). Culinary
terminology in Ossetic is of mixed origin. Few Iranian words (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_fīzonæg"/> kebab, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fydǵyn"/>
meat pie, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_carv"/>butter, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_mīsyn"/> buttermilk, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_wælivyx"/> cheese pie and some other) are opposed to substrate and loan words: <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kærzyn"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ʒūl"/>
bread, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ʒærna"/> (different types of porridge),
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_xalyvvæ"/> little pie, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_lyvzæ"/> roast meat, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xænkʼæl"/> noodles etc. Cf. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xæbīzǵyn"/>.</etym>
