обычное: медий <hi rendition="#rend_italic">y</hi> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">u</hi> — актив <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ū</hi> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">o</hi>; ср. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_q0ysyn"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">iǧusun</hi> ‘слышаться’ — <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qūsyn"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">igosun</hi> ‘слышать’; <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ænkʼ0ysyn"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ænkʼusun</hi> ‘шататься’ — <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ænkʼūsyn"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ænkʼosun</hi> ‘шатать’ (см. <bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_РОсл."/><biblScope>574</biblScope></bibl>).
об этом под <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kūryn"/> и <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kūrdiat"/>. Семантическая связь между „искать“ и
„рождать“ (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">agūryn</hi> и <hi rendition="#rend_italic">g˳yryn</hi>) заставляет вспомнить и глагол <ref type="xr" target="#entry_aryn"/> ‘находить’, ‘рождать’.<note type="footnote" n="1">

<etym xml:lang="en">Presumably, from *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">vi-kur-</hi>, medial correspondence to active
verbs <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kūryn</hi> ask, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">a-gūryn</hi> seek. The vowel alternation is regular:
middle voice <hi rendition="#rend_italic">y</hi> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">u</hi> — active voice <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ū</hi> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">o</hi>; cf. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_q0ysyn"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">iǧusun</hi> be heard<ref type="xr" target="#entry_qūsyn"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">igosun</hi> hear; <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ænkʼ0ysyn"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ænkʼusun</hi> stagger<ref type="xr" target="#entry_ænkʼūsyn"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ænkʼosun</hi> shake (см. <bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_РОсл."/><biblScope>574</biblScope></bibl>). As
for the semantic relations between <hi rendition="#rend_italic">g˳yryn</hi>, on the one hand, and <ref type="xr" target="#entry_agūryn"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kūryn"/>
on the other hand, they also can be explained as the relation of middle voice to
active-causative: on the one hand, originate, be born (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">g˳yryn</hi>), on the
other hand — to cause to originate by asking (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">kūryn</hi>) or seeking
(<hi rendition="#rend_italic">agūryn</hi>). One should take into account, in particular, that <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kūryn</hi>
initially meant to ask by means of spells. See about it under <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kūryn"/> and <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kūrdiat"/>. The
semantic relation between „seek“ and „give birth“ (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">agūryn</hi> and <hi rendition="#rend_italic">g˳yryn</hi>) is
reminiscent of the verb <ref type="xr" target="#entry_aryn"/> to find, to
give birth.<note type="footnote" n="1"> PUT NOTE HERE </note> Cf. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_g0yrʒ"/> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">igurcæ</hi>.</etym>
