<etym xml:lang="en">Literally it means “born (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ard</hi> past participle from <ref type="xr" target="#entry_aryn"/> to give birth) in a crib (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_kævdæs"/>)”. The name is based on the reality: <hi rendition="#rend_smallcaps">nomyl ūs</hi>
usually gave birth in a cattle-shed. Cf. the derivation pattern in <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d1562e131" xml:id="mentioned_d1562e158" xml:lang="de"><lang/>
