here? If one, what meaning should be considered key in the search for an etymological
solution? It is impossible to give a categorical answer to both these questions.
<q>Rotation</q>can be associated with <q>movement</q>, and <q>decoration</q> was
understood, perhaps, as a <q>transformation</q> (of the less attractive into the more
attractive). In any case, <oRef>taxun</oRef>
<gloss><q>to dress up</q></gloss> should be related to <mentioned xml:lang="fa"><lang/>
<w>pardāxtan</w> : <w>pardāz-</w> meaning <gloss><q>to decorate</q>, <q>to clean
