развития ср. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_arc"/><hi rendition="#rend_italic">aršti-</hi> ‘копье’). Точный
смысл послелога, стало быть, „за спиной“, „под защитой“ (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">dæ færcy</hi> = „за

<etym xml:lang="en">A locative case of a not retained independently word <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*færc</hi>,
which probably traces back to <hi rendition="#rend_italic">paršti-</hi> back (as for the phonetic
development, cf. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_arc"/><hi rendition="#rend_italic">aršti-</hi> spear).
Therefore, the exact meaning of the postposition is behind the back, under
protection (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">dæ færcy</hi> = behind your back, under your protection =
