verb <ref type="xr" target="#entry_aryn"><w>aryn</w>
<gloss><q>to find</q></gloss>, <gloss><q>to locate</q></gloss></ref>
(<gloss><q rendition="#rend_doublequotes">a place where something is
found</q>, <q rendition="#rend_doublequotes">location</q></gloss>),
semantically, this interpretation is not very satisfactory. On the one hand, the
connection with the verb <ref type="xr" target="#entry_aryn"><w>aryn</w></ref>
is supported by the fact that in South Ossetic dialects, where this verb sounds
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">waryn</hi>, the <gloss><q>boundary</q></gloss>
is accordingly called <formGrp xmlns="http://ossetic-studies.org/ns/abaevdict">
<form xmlns="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" type="dialectal" xml:lang="os-x-south"><orth>waræn</orth></form>

</formGrp>. On the other hand, in Digor, while the counterpart to <ref type="xr" target="#entry_aryn" xml:lang="os-x-iron"><lang/>
<w>aryn</w></ref> is <ref type="xr" target="#entry_erun"><w>erun</w>
<gloss><q>to find</q></gloss></ref>, we still have <oRef>aræn</oRef> (not
<w>eræn</w>) <gloss><q>boundary</q></gloss>, <gloss><q>border</q></gloss>.
Therefore, we have to consider some other root <mentioned xml:lang="ira"><w type="rec">ar-</w></mentioned>, perhaps the one found in <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d2270e251" xml:id="mentioned_d2270e306" xml:lang="hit"><lang/>
