unusual plural derivate from <ref type="xr" target="#entry_a"><w>a-</w>
<gloss><q>this</q></gloss></ref>, alongside the regular form <oRef xml:lang="os-x-digor">a-tæ</oRef> in Digor. Analyzable as <w>a</w> +
<m>d</m> + <m>on</m>, where <ref type="xr" target="#entry_a"/> is
<gloss><q>this</q></gloss>, <m>d</m> is the voiced plural marker (for a
different view see <bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_Miller._Gr."/><biblScope>52</biblScope></bibl>), and <m>on</m> is the plural suffix
<m>-ān</m> (← <mentioned xml:lang="ira"><m>-ānām</m></mentioned>) widespread
in Iranian languages and preserved in Ossetic only in the words <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ūdon"/>, <mentioned xml:lang="os"><w>kædon</w></mentioned>.
The stacking of several plural markers on top of each other is observed in many
languages. The regular plural form is preserved in Iron only in the phrase
