представляется в следующем виде: <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*pati-pāh-</hi><hi rendition="#rend_italic">*pait-pā-</hi><hi rendition="#rend_italic">feppa-</hi>.
Стало быть, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">рр</hi> из <hi rendition="#rend_italic">tp</hi>.
присутствием отпавшего согласного <hi rendition="#rend_italic">t</hi> в <hi rendition="#rend_italic">pati-</hi> (→ <hi rendition="#rend_italic">pat-</hi>). Таким образом,
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">*pait-pā</hi><hi rendition="#rend_italic">fippa-</hi>, как <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*čatbar</hi><ref type="xr" target="#entry_cyppar"/> ‘четыре’.</etym>

<gloss><q>guard</q></gloss></mentioned>. See latter correspondences under

the word seems to be as follows: <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*pati-pāh-</hi><hi rendition="#rend_italic">*pait-pā-</hi><hi rendition="#rend_italic">feppa-</hi>.
Thus, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">рр</hi> is from <hi rendition="#rend_italic">tp</hi>. Let us remind that in Digor the preverb <hi rendition="#rend_italic">fæ-</hi>,
also tracing back to <hi rendition="#rend_italic">pati-</hi>, causes gemination of the initial consonant
(<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_ОЯФ_I"/><biblScope>383</biblScope></bibl>), which is undoubtedly explained by the
hidden presence of the dropped consonant <hi rendition="#rend_italic">t</hi> in <hi rendition="#rend_italic">pati-</hi> (→ <hi rendition="#rend_italic">pat-</hi>).
Thus, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*pait-pā</hi><hi rendition="#rend_italic">fippa-</hi>, as <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*čatbar</hi><ref type="xr" target="#entry_cyppar"/> four.</etym>
