слова в персидском не отмечено; во-вторых, огласовка <hi rendition="#rend_italic">i</hi> в осетинском
препятствует такой этимологии. Вернее относить <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kʼimbus</hi> к группе
звукоизобразительных слов, как <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qappæl"/> и пр.,
рассмотренных под <ref type="xr" target="#entry_tymbyl"/> ‘круглый’.</etym>
<etym xml:lang="en"><hi rendition="#rend_smallcaps">Sjögren</hi> (<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_Шегрен"/><biblScope>92</biblScope></bibl>) thought that this is a compound from

<gloss><q>small</q></gloss></mentioned> and <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4519e128" xml:id="mentioned_d4519e156" xml:lang="fa"><lang/>

<gloss><q>garment</q></gloss></mentioned>. However, first, there is no such
composite in Persian; second, the vowel <hi rendition="#rend_italic">i</hi> in Ossetic contradicts to such
etymology. It is more correct to relate <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kʼimbus</hi> to a group of onomatopoeic
words, like <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qappæl"/> etc., considered under <ref type="xr" target="#entry_tymbyl"/> round.</etym>
