<gloss><q>greenery</q></gloss></mentioned>. The stress on the first syllable (<w type="rec">zárita-</w>) led to the reduction and disappearance of the vowel <c>i</c> in
the second one. But before disappearance, <c>i</c> performed its usual action: turned
